Menu items from The Feathered Cow franchise will be added at Rooster’s and Basil’s will get a refresh as well as expanded hours.

“Coming to Fondren has been a great experience,” Cesar Torres said. “It’s broadened our knowledge of the restaurant business.”

In addition to 125 spacious suite-style rooms, the property boasts an outdoor courtyard, an indoor pool and all of the amenities that Homewood Suites are known for.

The building’s five stories offer its students something they haven’t had for many years: a single, purpose-built facility, a home of their own.

“We are a consciously curated creative supply and general store,” Nicole Jenkins explained. “We’re trying to make a difference, connecting makers to customers.”

“I don’t think anyone understands what we’re getting ready to get,” FRF’s Jim Wilkirson says of the project. “Just the plantings and walkability of it are enticing alone.”

“The work I do is a reflection of myself. If I can’t say I would live here, or I would want this, I’m not going to choose it [for my tenants].”
