St. Richard Catholic Church is adding to its north Fondren campus.
On Sunday, March 26, 2017, the church held a blessing and groundbreaking for the start of a new special kids’ and boy scout building.
The 3,000 square foot structure will be completed for the start of the 2017 fall semester and located across the street from the church, next to its newly opened parking lot.
The building will house both space for the St. Richard Catholic Church Special Kids Program and the Boy Scouts of America Troop 30, chartered here in 1943.
The area for special kids will contain a classroom with one-on-one areas, an art room, kitchen and work room. The scout space will have a large room for meetings and group activity, along with three smaller classrooms for meeting, and ample storage room for all their camping supplies.
The architect for the project is Tim Taylor of Jackson, MS. The construction company for the project is N&W Construction of Jackson, MS.
