Live Life Well: The Club at St. Dominic’s
Is it a good diet? Will a regimen of regular exercise do it? How about a dose of positive reinforcement and genuine care? At The Club, it’s all of the above.
The Club Fitness Centers by St. Dominic Health Services are premier fitness and exercise clubs designed to help members live healthier lives by providing them with unique lifestyle centers. The goal of The Club is to improve the physical, medical, spiritual and emotional health of the community. In other words, to promote their motto to “live life well.”
At every location of The Club, including their Fondren facility off Lakeland Drive, St. Dominic’s has combined the best in fitness, tennis, aquatic and spa facilities. “St. Dominic’s has set itself apart from other facilities in the area as being both a leader in health care and wellness,” said Deidra Bell, CPA, executive vice president and CFO of St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. “We strive to bring awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle to all parts of the community.”
The Club’s new member benefits are designed to introduce each member to their variety of activities, programs and services. The benefits include a complimentary Microfitâ„¢ fitness assessment, a workout orientation, personal training assessments, and class passes for a friend. New members are also encouraged to meet with one of The Club’s fitness and/or tennis professionals to help jump-start or improve your workout routine or tennis game. In addition, all members are welcome to attend one of The Club’s member socials, where members both old and new are invited to enjoy coffee or drinks with the management team, mingle with fellow members, learn about upcoming events and have The Club’s experts answer any questions.
A host of activities can be found at The Club including Les Mills branded workouts, cardio and strength training, tennis, Zumba, Pilates, Silver Sneakers for Seniors, massage therapy and water aerobics. Speaking of the pool, The Club was recently recognized by the National Aquatic Program as having one of the top 25 aquatic programs in the country.
Group exercise studios feature specifically designed flooring systems to reduce the impact of exercise movements. Each studio is equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and sound systems to enhance the class experience. Specific studios have been designed for high intensity classes, indoor cycling and mind/body programs.
Children are taken care of as well. Services include babysitting for the youngest children all the way to air hockey, foosball, or just hanging out for teens. ClubKid Summer Camps are held in June and July from 8am-3pm and begin as low as $169 per session.
“The Club’s staff works with its members in making the facility one that adheres to the mission of Christian healing upheld by St. Dominic’s,” said Amy Batson, director of the Club at St. Dominic’s. “We love what we do to help make our community a healthier place.”
