Add another stitch to Fondren’s ‘fashion row’. Silly Billy’s Consignment Shop says it has outgrown its current location on Duling Avenue and will move into the former Bo-Kay’s Building on Mitchell Avenue. Co-owner Vacita Jones says the popular shop will close on February 25 at Duling School and hold its grand reopening  on March 1, in time to debut their spring collection. “Really, it’s just responding to customer requests”, she says of the need for more space. Jones tells Find It In Fondrenâ„¢ that they will have room at the new spot for a children’s department, home decor, furniture and an expanded men’s section. “Business is good”, Jones says, “and we see potential to do even better on Mitchell”.

Silly Billy’s at 534 Mitchell Avenue will join several other established businesses and newer ones on the street including The Shoe Bar at Pieces, Perfect Fit Alterations, Lipstick Lounge, Pink Lamborghini, The Orange Peel, Social Agenda and Studio 34, giving it its ‘fashion row’ moniker.

Update: November 2014 – Silly Billy’s has now closed.
