FRF Gears Up For Busy Fondren Spring
Mark your calendars now for March 22, whenÂ the infamousÂ Arts, Eats & Beats, Fondren’s annual “welcome to spring” party will move from April to March.Â This event features musicÂ from multiple bandsÂ and food from your favorite Fondren restaurants. Then, the very next day, March 23,Â Zippity Doo DahÂ® weekend kicks into gear with the Sweet Potato QueensÂ® arriving from all over the world. On Saturday March 24, an expanded children’s carnival, a night time parade and street party cap off a surprise-filled, family fun weekend. Look for all theÂ exciting details of the Zippity Doo Dah Weekend and Parade to be announced at 10:00, February 9, at aÂ press conference in front of Duling Hall.
Other spring events you will not want to missÂ include theÂ monthly First Thursday Fondren After 5 which will be highlighted this year by art showings from The Cedars asÂ well as other galleries throughout Fondren.WatchÂ for upcoming gallery announcements on the talent being featured this year.Â You certainly don’t want to missÂ SoFo’s ever so popular funfilledÂ Easter Egg Hunt April 1,Â atÂ the Cedars.Â New this year andÂ comingÂ in theÂ summer months on the third Thursday nights of June, July and August, is a music concert seriesÂ on the grounds ofÂ The CedarsÂ – plus, regular offerings such as theÂ wildly popularÂ FAB AnnualÂ July FreedomÂ Fest and Patriotic Parade!
