Things are moving and shaking at The Cedars – literally!  Thanks to the wonderful fundraising efforts of the Renaissance Awards and your community involvement in The Cedars Trust, much needed work in Phase I of the restoration and enhancement projects has now begun.  Weak foundation beams under the kitchen have caused the floor to shift in the past few months.  This week, all of the kitchen cabinets have been removed, as well as much of the floor to reveal that much damage over the years has occurred under the floor.  Replacement of these beams and additional support beams will be completed this week and the kitchen will start to be built back in the coming days. Also this week, work has been done on widening the driveway to accommodate a parking lane on one side for events, meetings and visits to the gallery.

Funds are still necessary to complete the final portion of Phase I, which will include a front yard walk, as well as enhanced lighting.  To learn more about the restoration and enhancement projects or to join The Cedars Trust, call the Foundation office at 601.981.9606.
